Our mission is to combat food insecurity with mobile healthy food access and education.
Well Fed Board Members and Volunteers have been working with the hungry here in Arkansas for the past five years. During 2019 some of our founders saw the need for a new approach to combatting food insecurity AND nutrition insecurity. During the early part of COVID-19 we felt a new imperative to build upon our partnerships, experience, and programs to birth a new organization. The need for mobile assistance as well as empowering education and healthy food were critical like never before as economic and health challenges rose.
During the past three years of feeding families, our approach to fighting food insecurity has expanded. Well Fed was founded to fill the “gaps” in the current food access system. We have worked alongside local and state organizations – learning, serving, innovating – into an organization committed to food equity and nutrition security. The lack of healthy food access and health education has ranked Arkansas in the bottom five states in America.
