Building Health Through Community
From March 2022 to October 2023, Well Fed partnered with MHA in Little Rock to bring healthy, affordable food directly to residents through a mobile market program.
In a neighborhood with few options for fresh groceries, the market made it possible for families to get free nutritious fruits, vegetables, and proteins right where they live—no transportation required.
As MHA’s president put it, “You’ve created a community gathering.”
Inside the community room, residents often linger to chat, laugh, and share recipes, while outside, the resident walking club—known as “the Marauders”— which started through our program, shows how wellness and connection go hand in hand.

Resident Jimmy Lunsford summed it up best: “Nobody else gives out the food y’all do.”
Together, Well Fed and MHA created more than a food access program—they built a space for health, hope, and community in an area that needed it most.
